Niagara Falls State Park will be rolling out QR codes throughout the park. Visitors will be able to use their smartphones to scan the qr code at that location to instantly access information on what they're looking at in addition to interactive maps of the park and an overview of the other attractions.
An example use of this technology would be if you went to Goat Island to check out the various falls viewing areas such as Prospect Point. Scanning the QR code would allow you to get the history of that area, stats and details and even photos.

Nik Wallenda will announce that June 15th will be the day he will cross Niagara Falls on a tight rope. The announcement will happen on Wednesday's (5/2/2012) episode of Good Morning America where he will be a guest. He should be on the show around 8AM EST.
The exact location for his crossing from Goat Island to Table Rock has yet to be set. It is said the time of day he will cross will be around 7-8PM EST on June 15, 2012.
The last person to cross Niagara Falls on a tight rope was James Hardy in 1896 and estimates say up to 125,000 people will pack in along the Canadian side of the Falls for this once in a lifetime event.
With that many people attending the event, it's as important as ever to book your Niagara Falls hotel early while there are still Niagara Falls hotel deals to be had! One great idea we recommend would be a Fallsview hotel with nice set of binoculars. Why fight the crowds when you can enjoy the show from your room?
